Scooby Styleguide
Part of my duties as a Warner Bros. license artist is to produce new styleguide art for use by licensees all over the world making everything from sticker books to backpacks. Typically I start with a b/w line drawing and render it up in Photoshop, trying to make it as lush as possible. Click on Scooby for more finished poses.

Scooby Stickers
For the last month I've been working on Scooby Doo sticker books for an Italian publisher. The books are composed of 2-page spreads with
animation-style backgrounds and a set of peel-off Mystery Gang stickers to lay on top. Here's a look at some of the spreads:

The Day the Derby Almost Died
For Looney Tunes issue #203 my editor wanted a story inspired by the growing phenom of women's roller derby. The Day the Derby Almost Died is an action-packed 10-pager about Lola and the ladies of Looney Tunes heroically battling Yosemite Sam and his gang of goons for control of the neighborhood rink. The story is coming out in the fall -- here's a sneak peek at the cover!

Fresh Looney Tunes |
Check your comic shop shelves -- here's three new LT covers for issues 198, 199, and the big number 200. 200 is a Rube Goldberg-inspired machine. Here's the key: Hunting tycoon Elmer Fudd sits down to a gourmet meal in his mansion. He lifts his fork (a) which pulls open the blinds (b). Wile Coyote pops his head through the window and scares Road Runner (c) who runs feverishly on the hamster wheel, turning a belt (d) connected to the electric fan motor (e). The fan blows Pepe Le Pew's stink (f) at LeCat, who flees in terror (g) scaring Speedy Gonzales into throwing his cheese up in the air (h). Always game for target practice, Yosemite Sam expertly fires his pistol (i) through the hole in the cheese, snapping the rope (j) and dropping Sylvester (k). Sylvester scares Tweety, who swings open his cage door (l) and flies away, knocking over the box of ACME Bird Seed (m) which runs down the chute towards Foghorn. Foghorn opens his umbrella (n) lifting Bugs into the air while he munches his carrot (o). Bugs' carrot bits fall into the bucket (p) counterbalancing the dinner tray lid. The dinner tray lifts open (q) revealing Daffy, less-than-thrilled about being Elmer's main course.

New Scooby Doo!
Here's a peek at some new Scooby Doo stories I've created for DC Comics as part of my series based on historical whodunnits. In The Curse of Project Rainbow and the Poughkeepsie Experiment Mystery Inc. gets to the foggy bottom of a Navy secret so classified, my own safety prevents me from revealing it here.

| Scooby and the the gang travel to Washington DC to visit the The Smithsonian Museum only to find themselves on put ice in The Frozen Fate of the Hope Diamond. I'm writing and drawing these, so it's a real growth experience, and a ton of work. Upcoming stories will star Harry Houdini, Amelia Earhardt, and King Tut -- Stay Tuned! |

Great Moments in Looney History

Last year I began a series of Looney Tunes 1-pagers for Swedish publisher Egmont called Great Moments in Looney History. In the latest three Bugs and friends go head-to-head with Isaac Newton, Leif Erickson, and famed anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl. Ha det så kul på festen!
